Illegal Gods: Amnesty Corazon

So we have our pirate captain example. How about something across the aisle? (Again, courtesy of the LintKing who designed all of these characters.)

Name: Amnesty Corazon
Race: Human
Occupation: Inquisitor
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Height: 5' 5"
Weight: 135

Amnesty's ancestry is something we would qualify as perhaps hispanic and asian mixing, giving her a creamily-tanned skin, chocolate brown eyes, and very rich black hair. Her home planet exemplified these blended cultures, but she was remarkable even there.

When she isn't actually turning on her intimidation factor, she looks quite adorable. When she does try to look scary, however, she's good at it, and she knows some very creative threats.

She has a tattoo of a cobra-like snake that starts at her left ankle, circles up the leg, and ends poised across her back.

Amnesty joined the Clergy voluntarily, and was immediately transferred to the Missionaries. After further testing, she was rendered unconscious one night, bound, and taken to another planet. The compound she had been training at endured a small explosion that killed five people, and her family was informed that she was one of them. She, meanwhile, was brought back to consciousness, and informed that she was among the Chosen, Called to be an Inquisitor. She had the devotion, and the...moral ambiguity, is probably a good way to phrase it. Oh, yes, and the unusual combination of liking people, but still being able to hurt them under controlled circumstances. ANYbody can hurt somebody who's trying to kill them back, and most people can do it to someone running away...but to do it to someone tied to a table, over the course of hours, is a less common `ability', as they count it. Amnesty has that.

She's an Inquisitor. She is, in fact, fanatically loyal to the God-Emperor, and is among those who disagrees that he's losing the war. ("Already lost" isn't on the table as far as she's concerned. The heathens will pay.)

She is on a mission to try to hunt out some of those associated with the war against the God-Emperor. It had come to the Inquisition's attention that many among the unGodly planets considered the war `won', and it occurred to someone that many were likely to be celebrating... so numerous Missionaries were sent to various such ships and events, while Inquisitors were sent to some of the more promising ones.

Some Advantages Include...

High-Ranked
Just being an Inquisitor, of course, entails a fairly high rank in the Church. She can boss Clergy and Missionaries around, and in her case, even many other Inquisitors. Other Inquisitors do still outrank her, as does The Seraphim Council, and, of course, Himself.

Volatile
Yes, that's Amnesty, not her powersuit. Many high ranking Inquisitors are infused with a biochemical compound that is kept dormant by their body's life processes. Should those processes stop for any length of time, it is very likely her body will explode quite violently. It's a matter of vengeance as much as of keeping secrets.

Some Disadvantages Include...
Ideally, an Inquisitor should be detached, and Amnesty does appear to be. She draws a bit more enjoyment from the idea of pain than she lets on, though. In fairness to her, this is probably a very COMMON issue among Inquisitors, but as far as she's concerned, she's the only one and the rest are all pure of heart and body. This would be very difficult to discover, except that she keeps a small, furtive, collection of pictures and videos. It would have a deleterious effect on her rank - the Inquisition is in a fairly paranoid state right now, even for them, and maintaining image is terribly important.

One thing I'm finding somewhat amusing about the social climate in IG is that pretty much *anybody* can claim some degree of Wantedness from somewhere. Inquisitors, certainly, are not terribly popular, and many of the forces that brought the God-Emperor's rule to an end will happily make an example of one, given the opportunity. She is not, however, being sought personally.

Skills - Electronics, Interrogation - (torture), Intimidation, Law - (God-Emperor), Piloting - (Powersuits), Gun Combat - (Smite!), Heavy Weapons, Melee Attack - (Sword), Melee Defense - (Sword), Ranged Defense - (Personal), Riding - (Wyverns), Social Sciences, Medical, Kensei - (Judge Opponent),

The Archangel Powersuit
The Archangel Powersuits were never common, given only to officials of some rank in the Church, or to their bodyguards. They are, however, somewhat feared by reputation despite this rarity. They are, of course, primarily known for the Flaming Swords...which act not only as swords, but are able to spear out `lightning bolts' as well, to smite unbelievers. (It is a part of the God-Emperor's mythology that they won't harm a true believer, and of those who still follow his faith there ARE many who believe this.) It IS true that the light it sheds will change in the presence of true Evil and falsehoods. In addition to the Flaming Sword, the Archangel Powersuit includes a versatile antigravity generator - it's capable of functioning in space for a while as well, but is not specifically built for it, so it loses some of its maneuverability. Of course, no Powersuit worth its salt doesn't grant a significant bonus to the wearer's physical strength - scenes of Archangels tearing opponents in half or punching through walls are well advertised. Finally, the whole thing folds up into a neat little briefcase for the height of portability. Amnesty has always loved flying, and was absolutely thrilled when she was given hers.

The Archangel Powersuit essentially is a suit of clothing. It's bulkier than that, but that's what it's designed as, and it's not designed for wearing other clothing underneath. It is well designed to be comfortably worn all day long, however.

Her power suit is entirely owned by the Church, and not to be used for personal gain. Of course, so is she.
