Illegal Gods: BSE "The Company"

Benjamin Stryfe Enterprises. A small transportation agency with roots in the mid 1980s of Earth, always the source of rumours...some of which they transported themselves. The story starts with the mysterious General Benjamin Stryfe, whose son in creating the company named as his greatest hero, as they took the company into military specification. It takes a strange twist upon the health of his grandson, who was rumoured by the locals to be a vampire.

The claims were considered harmless until a series of unusual murders and a request for "protection" by Mr. Stryfe (the IIIrd) led a number of investigators into his unusual house in the Latin Americas. While having claimed the need for bodyguards, Mr. Stryfe was not in evidence. Most of the investigators were killed in a freak accident that destroyed Mr. Stryfe's house. His ex-wife, known under the stage name, "Tenochtitlan" was questioned in conjunction with the events, but while it remains one of the great mysteries of the time, there was no evidence of her involvement. She went on to star in many blockbuster hits, unfortunately her career was brought into an early retirement by the suspicions of her acting in a pornographic movie ("Teno Drinks Bubblebuzz") with a notorious corporate smuggler.

The mysterious disappearance of Mr. Stryfe did not, in fact, hurt his business doings at all, as control was given to the board of directors who ruled that dissolving the business would be "inappropriate considering current circumstances." Soon after that, BSE was involved in the takeover of interests in the first Beanstalk Project. Their fortune was sealed with that move, as ongoing space exploration wore the BSE label.

To this day, BSE is known as "The Company," to anyone in the Inner Sphere. It's everywhere. Their logo need not festoon every product as, well, it's well known. The board of directors have long since passed many others as "the Sphere's Richest," and many members own small armies to protect their holdings. Corporate proceedings can be murder, sometimes quite literally. Free trade is their highest motivation, and they're not unwilling to use it to sinister purposes.
