"But what is it?" the LintKing asked me. I suddenly realized that I had this whole vision in mind, but I hadn't actually talked about it.
That's pretty rare for me. Not just because I might have some qualities shared with Chatterbox, but because usually once I have an awesome gaming idea, he's the first I tell.
Gentry Street is kind of the culmination of the urban faery stories I've been wanting to play out for years. The site's (no links!) coming along slowly as I'm trying to build it like it's a real place. PCs will actually be "moving in," somewhere along the neighborhood, so there will be real maps for them, and knowledge of who the important NPCs are. It's been one of those "writer's cramp" relaxation exercises for me.
I haven't decided for certain what system I'll be using for it. My hopes is to make it another Play-By-Blog game. It's not something I'm making any deadlines for, or working into my schedule. It's not going up until it's "ready," and from my observations of, say, House of Cards that will probably take a while to satisfy me anymore.
It's actually influenced strongly from the "Tales from Alhambra" Anita Blake-style universe game I've lurked. I don't quite want to nail it down to any real location (although I know real world places like this.)
I want a place I can detail the elf I saw last Saturday waiting for the bus, with cute dreadlocks.
