A browse of journals and commentary made by other players in one of the campaigns I'm in notes that because a character is noted as being "attractive," some of the other players refer to that character as "skinny."
She isn't. She's "curvy." Every description of her by the player reflects this. Of course, there's probably an axis describing a range of modifiers between "flat as a board," and "fat." But it might also reflect a bias. Hmmm.

Tell me about it! I got into a big argument with Kat Lemmer once, because she'd described her character as 5'6" and about 105 pounds, and was trying to claim that the character was NOT stick-skinny. I'd put Lydia at 5'6" and about 150 pounds, mostly to give her sufficient mass for her limited-shapeshift form as a panther, and I had gone to some trouble to emphasize that while Lydia was by no means slender, she was a well-proportioned size 12 or 14, probably, and looked like a solidly curvy version of Helena Bonham Carter.
I was really annoyed about the 5'6" and 105 character distorting everyone's views of just what a certain weight looked like.
Sure, it's fine to make your characters look like a wish-fulfillment fantasy of beauty -- but some attention to reality and proportion would be nice.

Um...but she IS a wish-fullfillment vision of beauty. (gryn)

Most women have no idea what they look like.
So is it such a leap that they also can't extrapolate(?) (interpolate?) what anything else looks like?
