Introduction:
Better minds than mine have attempted this, but I think it's time to start considering the MaBarry Rulez.
This is a work in progress...
Purpose:
The main reason I game is to have fun. It is not to work out (personal) issues. It's not to be in control, or to use my position in a game to change someone else, either player or character. It's not to promote my beliefs, politically, religiously, sexually, or otherwise.
What is the role of the player?
Each player, acting through his or her character, exerts an influence on the development of the plot, hopefully in the direction of satisfying the character's objectives, but also to maintain the consensus narrative of the group as a whole.
The Limitation of Players:
Players may always voluntarily impose restrictions on their game abilities to better suit their character concepts.
If the players feel that there is definitely some master vision the GM wants, they begin trying to guess what they should do to further the plot, rather than being true to their characters and doing what the characters would do.
The players work hard to set up characters that they view as potentially successful. So, let them approach most situations with the skills they have.
The Limitation of GMs:
The character's backstory, once the game is opened, is sealed according to player consent. The GM, once having accepted a character, should never arbitrarily throw in elements that compromise the player's vision.
Roleplaying is a somewhat unsuitable format for purely adversarial play, since the rules are never solid enough to completely constrain the players, and since the GM has way too much power to be a real adversary.
Breaking the Rules:
Every rule has to rely on some form of enforcement, and thusly rules should be designed such that if they are broken, there is a penalty.
Energy and Passivity:
Passive players.
Multipost players.
Hmmm...work in progress.

Oh boy, I remember what made some of these rules come into being. Ouch.
