I've mentioned "Sisters of the Rainbow" a few times as an Amber game designed by myself and a friend based loosely on Aztec/Toltec mythology. I was rummaging around and found this note on it in a drawer.
In a lot of campaigns, Stuff is kind of a rough guide to a rough idea. For "Sisters of the Rainbow" we had a specific idea for what every point of "Stuff" on a plus/minus ten point scale suggested for the character.
BAD STUFF:
-10 You have the Mark of Doom.
-9 You are a missing sacrifice.
-8 You are a missing slave.
-7 Your lover betrayed you, or you betrayed your lover.
-6 You have been blood cursed.
-5 You have been geased.
-4 You made a bad bargain with someone significant.
-3 You made a bad bargain with someone who has limited resources.
-2 You are magically bespelled
-1 You are jinxed.
GOOD STUFF:
+1 You are merely lucky.
+2 You have allies in unlikely places.
+3 You've made a good bargain with someone (effectively better than a Court Friend.)
+4 You've made a good bargain with someone influential (about the level of a Devotee.)
+5 You have been blessed.
+6 You have been given a level of Protection.
+7 You have a Gladstone Effect.
+8 A special sacrifice has been done for you.
+9 Other people's lives are affected so as to improve yours.
+10 You have a Mark of Power.
