I had played Fiona for a very short time in the GA campaign. I'm archiving my character questionnaire here just for my own amusement.
What character do you want to play?
Princess Fiona, daughter of (reputedly) the King and the Redheaded Wench from the South.
Why?
In order to play an Elder at all, there is a fine balance between traits from the books ("the X we know,") and providing your own "spin" to make that character "your own." With my experience with playing Fiona, I feel I have developed a balance that makes the X we know comfortable while allowing my spin to be a more flavourful twist.
What does this character bring to the game?
An absolute license for snarkiness and mischief, at least from "the X we know." Depending on the structure, we're also looking at her reputed powers of mind for additional sensory contact between characters, leading for greater opportunities of erotic description.
What interests you about the character?
Um, see above. [grin] Besides, as a short redhead myself, we've got a reputation to maintain.
I-A. What is your character's primary sexual orientation (heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual)? If none of these three fit, explain. Under what conditions would your character make an exception?
Fiona is primarily heterosexual, although she has been rumoured to make "exceptions" if only to satiate her...curiosity. Honestly, she's more interested in an individual's personal energy, and masculine energy works to her taste. On the other hand, there are times she's producing a lot of her own masculine energy and the taste of feminine might appeal.
I-B. What is your character's orientation in dominance and submission (top, bottom, switch)? Under what conditions would your character make an exception?
Definitely top. Aggressively top. She's a sadist. Which isn't to say she wouldn't possibly be amused by someone attempting to 'tame' her, but honestly, she'd top from the bottom. She's not comfortable being out of control. She's a tease, she likes to call the shots, including where they land in sizzling ecstasy.
Erm. [heh]
I-C. What other sexual interests and fetishes does your character have? (furries, plushies, shoe worship, latex, whatever--your imagination is the limit)
She likes to be messy. (She "really gets into her work.") Blood, semen, sweat, whipped cream, intestines. On the other hand, that's in private. In public, she likes to be impeccably clean and straitlaced...until, of course, she spots her latest victim. She does think of it as a bit of a hunt.
She also likes semi-tele/em-pathic sex, including having gotten quite good in Chaos at a particular erotic stamina game this way.
I-D. What sorts of sexual acts will your character refuse to perform? What about if the Right Person is doing them?
Humiliation is right out for her, although it is more the motive than the act which makes it humiliating. She's vengeful. She has not been able to conceive of "the Right Person" for this.
I-E. What are your character's biggest turn-offs and turn-ons?
Power. Power is the biggest turn on. Especially repressed power she thinks she might be able to untap. The very edge of that, however, leads to the turn-off: power that she can't share. Minds that infect with their dirty selfishness, closing people off.
I-F. What was your character's first sexual experience?
Homunculi. It was her mother's idea, really. (I imagine the internal conversation going something like, "That daughter of mine is oversexed, and if I don't do something about it, one of the boys might...") (And yeah, there's a great XXXenophile which I immediately recalled.)
I-G. What is your character's ideal mate? What about your character's ideal one-night stand?
Ideal mate? Bleys. Seriously, though, she wants the kind of relationship where her partner will accept her entirely, good and bad, and strengthen her to reinforce the good. She doesn't want a set commitment, but an understood one, where the boundaries really define the word, "mutual." She wants someone who is a "forever there," not that he doesn't have his own interests, but someone who places her first.
I-H. What are your limits as a player? What sorts of scenes will you not participate in? Of those scenes, which ones would you be willing to read about?
Um, could I have run SWtE and been squeamish? [cut for personal reasons]
II-A. What is your character's biggest unfulfilled fantasy? Why is it unfulfilled?
To be Queen of a combined Amber and Chaos. It's unfulfilled because they off'd Brand.
OK. Take Two.
Fantasy? She doesn't indulge in fantasies. Fantasies are foolish. If something is enough of a desire for her, she reaches for it. She's fickle enough, whimsical enough that sometimes sour grapes are sufficient. Sour is a taste she likes to see others devour, after all.
Benedict. She wants to take him down. That's one of her unfulfilled fantasies. It has been unfulfilled because there are things even she won't do.
II-B. What experience has your character most regretted or appreciated?
She most regrets having to chain up Brand. She felt it was much more humane to just knife him in the kidneys, than have him held to the wall like a dog. She couldn't bear to look at him after that. She could barely meet his eyes at the final battle, knowing that if there had been a chance of redemption, she may have pushed him over the edge.
II-C. What is your character's public reputation? What parts of that reputation aren't true?
She comes across as quite cold to anyone she doesn't have her eye on... and there have been people who have seen her as a "challenge" because of this. She's also considered fairly incorrigible...and she could be redeemed.
III-D. What is the most important gift your character has ever given or received? Why?
Oberon's trust with the Primal Pattern. Honestly, for all her father did not take well to her and her wicked ways, that she was considered strong enough to protect it validated all of what she did to train in the Arts. It gave a woman in Amber a significant role: if she could not be queen, perhaps she could take Dworkin's place, as wizard to her King.
III-E. List up to ten quirks your character has.
1) Favourite flavours are all tart. Just like her!
2) Has a thing for hunchbacked old men. She suspects it's their dirty, devious personalities.
Erm, scratch that one.
2) Slight addiction to magic.
3) Has a fondness for redheads.
4) Would prefer to be considered elegant over beautiful, but would prefer to be feared more than loved.
5) Has an almost obsessive desire for knowledge, perhaps especially gossip.
6) Cultivated a taste for absinthe.
7) Has experimented with many mind-altering substances, comfortable with the results.
8) Finds confidence an aphrodisiac, arrogance almost better.
III-A. Who are your character's favorite relatives? Your character's least favorite relatives? Why?
With, of course, edits for other player personality and choices, Fiona's favourite relatives are Bleys, Julian, and Corwin, in that order. Bleys because he's practically her second skin. Julian because he's so much fun to tease. Corwin because she likes to get under that skin (kind of a combination of Bleys and Julian's traits.) Her least favourite relatives are Flora and Caine. Florimel mostly because she was successful acting like a girl. Caine because she knows he's a little too much like her.
III-B. Briefly describe your character's suite in Castle Amber.
Lush on the senses, but only one at a time. You open her door to colour and comfort. There's something to focus anywhere you look. She has places that just smell...good. She has a number of interesting things to taste...not even just on her body! She has a number of kinetic art pieces, that are meant to be touched (some of the 'Chinese fingertrap' variety, too...) Some of them can be quite useful on the erotic level.
III-C. What sorts of things (tangible or intangible) does your character have/have access to that would interest non-royals? (control of the navy, private shadows, the king's ear, etc.)
The most obvious thing she has is a reputation for scheming. People tell her things sometimes just because it seems like they might as well: after all, she already knows them. She trades information, and can be trusted to keep a secret... if not make sure a good secret gets told to the right person. She's an excellent wizard, with a flair for the sadistic. She knows the magic "places," and can tap into them. She's also female and unattached.
III-D. What sorts of allies and enemies does your character have? Which of these might be present at the Grand Affair?
Fiona has a bit of a grudge against Rebma, not anything specific, exactly, but one that was developed because of her mother's grudge against Moins and Llewella. She likes Llewella. She doesn't, however, like Moire, and would support any power struggle there. She has a number of people who fear her, including some Kings of GC Shadows (to be filled in later) and a few who admire her...that she might like to use.
III-E. If your character could change one thing about Amber, what would it be?
Honestly, this is a tough one, because she really does think of Amber as being fairly good the way it is. On the other hand, with some thought to it, she does think there needs to be more female and more magical representation. If they could open up immigration to wizards, she thinks they might be able to import magical improvements that she saw in the Courts, and make Amber truly a place to fear and admire.
