I have figured out why Llewella is so caught between the land and the sea.
There's a pending question in the series in regards to why Llewella sees anything of Amber. She doesn't seem happy there, there's a lot insinuated that she was recognized in order to put a little kink in Clarissa's happiness, and she's "not like the others."
Which is not to say that she can't twist the knife. She's far closer to the Rebman throne, after all, and while we pishposh those who say Rebma is older than Amber, it is true they keep to the older ways. Things change much slower there, under the waves. It is said that those of the Tir had changed too quickly, radicals, experiments, and that is why they are all now ghosts.
And that's the secret, really. It's right there.
Rebma has no stars.
The turning of the tides is a matter of the moon and the sky. So Llewella's view looks up, where things are controlled. She is subtle to her power. It is best to keep the downtrodden down. One ignores Rebma to their peril.

Mmmmm. IMC she not only looks up, but she is split nearly even between heritage rather than being a blend of parents.
Not like, as in not locked in her own perspective.
