"Bachelor number one. I like long walks on the moonlit beach, movie theatres, and carnival rides. If I were on a date with you, where would you take me?"
"You are always welcome to visit here, and you may leave your fears along with your ambitions at the border."
"Indeed. Um...Bachelor number two. If we were in our special place together, and someone disturbed us, how would you handle it?"
"I take out my sword, Greyswandir (that is its name, which I know I have not mentioned up until now). In a loud voice, I tell them to `Come on in and burn.'"
"OK. Bachelor number three, would you like to buy me a drink?"
"No, and I won't sell out my armada either, if that's what you're after--and I'd imagine you are."
"Hmmm. Bachelor number four, I have many prospects for dates. What makes you so different than the rest?"
"We will see what they can do against a prince."
"Bachelor number five, I would like to be a professional in a field that helps others. What are your ambitions?"
"I am going to raise up a perfect world."
"Yeah. Well, Bachelor number six...I like to work in the garden. What are your hobbies?"
"I enjoy slaughtering beasts. And I think of my relatives constantly."
"Ooooh. Kinky. Alright...well, Bachelor number seven... I like strawberry ice cream, but I also like sushi. Which would you take me out for when we went to dinner?"
"You are just trying to confuse things! Like you always do!"
"Tough choices. Huh. Bachelor number one... One of your friends is talking. I know you don't kiss and tell. What do you do?"
"I shall seek her, find her, have the story from her own lips, and then decide for myself."
"Aha. Bachelor number two... how do you feel about safe sex?"
"The enemy has always been out there. And it will be up to me to see that they are not given passage again -- by dealing properly with those who provided it in the first place."
"Bachelor number three... sometimes I really put my foot in my mouth. What's one of the most embarrassing things you've ever said?"
"I might even owe you an apology."
"Bachelor number four... you said they'd have to measure themselves against a prince. Could you explain further?"
"I don't know what's going on in everyone's head right now, but I can assess our relative strengths and I think I'm in the best position. You made a wise choice in coming to me."
"You're pretty sure of yourself, aren't you? Bachelor number five...you talked about a perfect world. What do you say about yourself?"
"I am a fool, a sentimental one, at that."
"I like your way of thinking. Bachelor number six...what do the others think of your measure?"
"It would not be the first time I've been falsely accused, suspected. And for that matter, if intent counts for anything, I am as guilty as our little sister."
"Bachelor number seven, final question... why are you here?"
"I had a thought -- a terrible thought. This is the only way that I know to do something about it."

I don't know whether to be scared or amused. I'll try both.
